How Are Windshields Fixed?

One of the questions that are commonly run across in the repair industry is the question of how windshields are fixed. It is a common question, since one does not always picture glass as being a material that is fixable.

So how are windshields fixed, then? It turns out; it is a simple process that combines binding chemicals together with the curing properties of ultraviolet light.

1-Firstly, the windshield is thoroughly cleaned in order to make sure that no other elements interfere in the bonding process.

2- A special resin is then carefully inserted into the crack and filled until it is perfectly flush with the rest of the surface area.

3-The resin is then cured and hardened using an ultraviolet light. This technology functions in much the same way that orthodontists can secure gear in someone’s quickly and efficiently. The resin cures into a super hard and bonded substance after exposure.

The end result of the fix will restore the structural integrity of the windshield and will return most of the clarity to it, quickly removing the problem for good.

The best way to ensure that a fix is successful is to take it to a professional that is able to ensure that the materials bond correctly and that the problem is permanently resolved.
